Magazine writer, photographer, filmmaker
Elliott Woods is a magazine writer and photographer whose work focuses primarily on conflicts over natural resources. Earlier in his career, he covered the Middle East and Central Asia extensively, writing about the Arab Spring, the war in Afghanistan, and the perpetual Israel-Palestine crisis. In the United States, he has written about wolves, resistance to the Keystone XL pipeline, veterans’ issues, and public land politics. He’s a contributor to Outside Magazine, Men’s Journal and Businessweek among other publications, and a contributing editor at the Virginia Quarterly Review. Woods has received an Overseas Press Club Award for his writing about the Central African Republic and a National Magazine Award for his multimedia work on Afghanistan. Woods is a veteran and willing to speak about veterans' issues and topics related to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
