andrea peacock elk river arts and lecturesAndrea Peacock is a former editor of the Missoula Independent, and author of Libby Montana: Asbestos and the Deadly Silence of an American Corporation and co-author (with her husband Doug Peacock) of The Essential Grizzly: The Mingled Fates of Men and Bears. She has written for alternative newsweeklies including the Denver Westword and the Austin Chronicle (where she was the assistant politics editor). In 2010, she received an Alicia Patterson Fellowship for her work on oil and gas development on sacred lands in the West. She is the co-owner of Elk River Books in Livingston.

Peacock prefers to work collaboratively with small groups and is willing to mentor students. Possible subject areas include writing, journalism, entrepreneurship and rare books.
